Troop 35144: Silver Ticket Winner

Pueblo

My sister and I are both Brownies. It’s our third year in Girl Scouts with Troop 35144. We LOVE being in Girl Scouts, especially earning badges and selling Girl Scout Cookies. We weren’t sure how cookie season was going to go this year because of the pandemic, but we worked hard at selling cookies and increased our goals twice. We sold cookies with our Digital Cookie websites, walked our neighborhood, sold door-to-door on Super Bowl weekend, sold at three booths, and even did a virtual cookie booth online. We wore masks, social distanced, and made contactless deliveries. We picked up one extra case of Thin Mints for some last minute sales, and that’s when we found the Silver Ticket! Thank you!

Troop Goal: 400 packages per girl

Hometown Hero: Local healthcare workers

Girl Scout troops statewide have found golden, silver, and bronze tickets in cases of cookies that they picked up at area cupboards since the beginning of March! More tickets are out there. Check your cases of cookies if you pick up an extra case or two this weekend for last minute orders or when you pick up your Hometown Hero cookies. Learn more here.

This year is Elizabeth’s third cookie season. But, this year makes it more fun, because she gets to sell with/teach her sister, Aubri. Aubri has been asking to sell cookies with Elizabeth for two years and finally gets to. They both get to get out in the community to help make a difference. Also, they get to make decisions on what to do in their troop.

This is my fourth year selling Girl Scout Cookies and I have been a top seller for three! Next year, I hope to sell more than 2,000 packages for the first time. I am saving Cookie Credits for horse camp. I am a leader in all that I do! We recently went rock climbing as a troop and it was amazing! I can’t wait to go again.

Honoring Teachers as Hometown Heroes

Pagosa Springs

Sage, a Brownie from Pagosa Springs, accomplished the biggest goal she set for herself this cookie season, which was to collect 80 packages of Girl Scout Cookies to donate to the staff and teachers at her local elementary school. Sage wanted to recognize them as Hometown Heroes and thank them for all they have done to make sure the children could attend school safely this year.

Cookies for Swedish Medical Center

Girl Scout Daisy Troop 68042 from South Denver/Englewood delivered more than 450 packages of Girl Scout Cookies to their Hometown Heroes, Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, on Monday, March 8, 2021. The girls chose Swedish Medical Center as their Hometown Hero because it serves their community and because they know how hard doctors, nurses, and other staff members are working to keep their community safe during the pandemic. These Daisies view their local frontline workers as superheroes in white capes, so honoring and thanking them with cookies was a no brainer!

2021 Best Cookie Video contest: The Winners are…

Thank you to all the Girl Scouts who entered this year’s contest for Best Cookie Video! We received nearly two dozen entries from across Colorado and are so impressed by your creativity and enthusiasm.

Third Place- 50 Cookie Credits

Girl Scout Maible from Longmont plans to use her winnings to support her troop in some way, either with Girl Scout activities or buying badges or patches.

My biggest wish is to collect lots of donations for my Hometown Hero, Our Center food bank in Longmont. I learned about food insecurity this year. We donated cookies to Our Center last year, and the people there told us the cookies were nice treats during the pandemic. I want to help brighten the days of those people who need food from Our Center. A box of cookies is a special treat, and everyone deserves a treat!”

Second Place- 100 Cookie Credits

Girl Scout Clemmer from Highlands Ranch plans to use her winnings to go to Girl Scout Camp.

“I love music and performing almost as much as I love Girl Scouts! Every year I try to come up with a way to use music as part of the Cookie Program. I’m hoping to sell 1,000 packages this year!”

First Place- 200 Cookie Credits

It was just too close to call, so we declared a tie!

Both Matilda from Denver and Adalyn from the Pikes Peak region plan to use their Cookie Credits to go to camp!

“I am a Girl Scout Brownie and a third grader. I’ve sold Girl Scout Cookies for four years, and it’s one of my favorite parts of the Girl Scout year. I like telling people about cookies and seeing how happy everyone is when they get theirs. My mom, Nana, and my mom’s Nana were all Girl Scouts, and I love being a Girl Scout, too. In Girl Scouts, I got to compete in a racing derby, organize a trash clean up event for my Take Action project, have fun with my friends, and I can’t wait to go to Girl Scout Camp.” – Matilda

“She has been working hard by staying safe! She has posted flyers throughout our neighborhood, made videos, and also hosts bi-nightly virtual cookie booths. She also stays safe by wearing custom masks and gloves she helped me make, she is constantly sanitizing, and keeps a safe distance. She has also done more than 50 porch drop-offs.” – Kendra, Adalyn’s mom
