Three ways to start your new Girl Scout year with a bang:

Raina Telgemeier is the author and illustrator of the graphic novels Smile, Drama, Sisters, Ghosts, and Guts, all #1 New York Times bestsellers. She also adapted and illustrated four graphic novel versions of Ann M. Martin’s Baby-Sitters Club series. Raina’s books have been awarded five Eisner Awards, a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor, a Stonewall Honor, and many Best-of and Notables lists.
In an upcoming Inspiring Futures on Sept. 20 and Sept. 27, bestselling graphic novelist (and former Girl Scout!) Raina Telgemeier will share an inspirational talk about her childhood love of art and reading and how she learned to express herself through the medium of comics.

“I started reading the funnies in my local newspaper when I was nine. My favorites were Calvin and Hobbes and For Better or For Worse,” says Raina. “I started making my own comic strips around the same time, and realized I liked putting pictures and words together to tell stories.”

Raina’s original graphic novels are all based on her personal life experiences, which millions of young adults have been able to relate to and resonate with. Join us to learn more about the process of creating a graphic novel and see exclusive behind-the-scenes content from her art studio and old sketchbooks.

Future Me partner program launches for DBJ

Explore your future possibilities in the Future Me patch program and earn a glow-in-the-dark patch and a $100 contribution to your CollegeInvest savings plan! In this program, Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors, can explore their interests and envision their future through interactive activities so they can be the champion of their ambition. Girl Scouts will participate with their caregiver and after completing the program, CollegeInvest will contribute $100 to their CollegeInvest savings account. It’s OK if you don’t already have an account set up, they’ll get you started.

Every year, Girl Scouts explore the natural wonders found across our country during the Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend. Girl Scouts nationwide, along with their troops, friends, and families, celebrate our shared love of the outdoors.

Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend is on Sept. 10 and 11 this year. Grab your backpack and head out to your local state parks for self-guided tours, family hikes, watersports, stargazing, special events, and more!

Fall Product Program starts Saturday, Sept. 10.

Did you know that Girl Scouts can participate in the Fall Product Program as an individual member or with their troop?

The Fall Product Program is a great way for troops to earn startup funds for Girl Scout activities throughout the year or to get one step closer to reaching their next goal. All troops receive 13% of their magazine orders as troop proceeds, plus $1.05/per item for nuts and chocolates sold. Girl Scouts earn rewards too!

Girl Scout Day at the Colorado Rockies
Sept. 25
All Levels
Join us for Girl Scout Day with the Colorado Rockies! All Girl Scouts, friends, and family are invited to cheer on the Rockies as they take on the San Diego Padres. The game starts at 1:10 p.m. There won’t be a parade this year. Ticket prices are $25 for lower-level seating in sections 145 and 146. GSCO will receive a small donation from the Rockies for tickets purchased.
