Girl Scout Cadettes Kaitlin S. and Grace H. are working on their Silver Award project. The project is to create a safe space in the school where students can go to calm down/deescalate when they need to take a break from stress at school. The Roots and Wings Room will be managed by school counselors and administrators have been very supportive of the project, and we hope parents and students will be as well. The girls have been working on it for almost a year.

Reporter Mayo Davison of News5/KOAA-TV heard about the project and did a story about it. Watch it here: https://www.koaa.com/rebound/its-a-place-to-calm-your-nerves-chinook-trail-middle-school-students-create-safe-space-to-improve-mental-health

We want to hear how your girl is using her Girl Scout skills by taking initiative, caring for the community, and Girl Scouting at home. She can send in her story here.
