Troop 73392 is eagerly anticipating the Fourth Annual Girl Scout Holiday Bazaar in Longmont on December 2, 2017. In addition to baked good items and beautiful handmade gift bags, the girls have been working to create Girl Scout Cookie jewelry.

The holiday bazaar in Longmont started four years ago with a total of six booths. The ensuing years have seen this unique event grow to almost 20 booths with troops or individual Girl Scouts from the Front Range selling a variety of hand-crafted items from jewelry to pet treats and everything in between. This event allows girls to showcase both their artistic and entrepreneurial talents while working towards individual and troop goals.

Longmont Girl Scouts prepare for Holiday Bazaar

Cadette Troop 73392 in Longmont is busy getting ready for The Second Annual Girl Scout Holiday Bazaar! The event on November 21, 2015 features crafts, baked goods, holiday items, and more– all made by Girl Scout troops in Northern Colorado and as far south as Castle Rock.

Troop 73392 has been working for months to make many of the items, which they plan to sell at the Bazaar, including “Gobs,” A.K.A. Whoopie Pies. On Monday, November 9, Troop Leader Sharon Manning taught her daughter, Sophia, and fellow troop member, Bebe, how to make “Gobs,” using an old family recipe. Reporter Pam Mellskog and a photographer from the Longmont Times-Call joined the Girl Scouts for an evening of cooking and sharing family stories. Pam is writing an article about the troop and the bazaar, which the Longmont Times-Call plans to run the week of Nov. 16, 2015. Please look for it, along with the recipe for “Gobs.”

Once again, Troop 73392’s Second Annual Holiday Bazaar is Saturday, November 21. It’s from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Heart of Longmont First United Methodist Church in Longmont. More information is available on the Girl Scouts of Colorado Events Calendar. Use this link:
