Salute America’s heroes by selling 50 (or more) packages of Gift of Caring Girl Scout Cookies between Sunday, February 3 and Sunday, March 10, 2019. The girls from Troop 60493 have put together an awesome cookie rally and service project for the military on January 12, 2019! Held at the Westview Rec Center in Westminster, girls will work on their cookie selling skills and earn a financial literacy or cookie business badge (DBJ-badge not included). This year, we will also make paracord survival bracelets for our military overseas as a service project.
CSA’s are invited to help at the event as well! The cost is $12 per participant. These girls are amazing go-getters and leaders! They have planned this entire cookie rally and service project from beginning to end to help their Girl Scout sisters with cookie business skills and to say thank you to our military. You will see them at the rally playing games, doing crafts, and roleplaying with the girls to get them ready for this year’s cookie season. They will wrap up their time with the girls making those paracord survival bracelets for our military overseas.

2019 Girl Scout Cookie Program beings Feb. 3
When girls participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, they get more than life-changing experiences and adventure. They also develop essential life skills—goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics—all while soaring in confidence and practicing leadership the Girl Scout way to lift one another up and change the world, together.
Girls will connect with professional women in a variety of career fields, giving them a unique opportunity to learn directly from incredible women in our community. Any girl in grades 6th – 12th, is invited to Secrets to Success.
Join us for Girl Scout Day with the Colorado Avalanche and cheer on the Avs as they take on the St. Louis Blues! The troop with the most ticket referrals will get to have a cookie booth at the game! Last year’s troop sold over 500 packages at their booth.
Girl Scouts of Colorado is excited to announce additional training for troop cookie managers for the 2019 Girl Scout Cookie Program. If you’re planning to serve as a TCM this year, THANK YOU! We understand the time, commitment, and heart this volunteer role requires and we truly appreciate it. We will host a variety of Cookie University training sessions throughout the state.
Cookie University is an excellent opportunity for you to spend time with other troop cookie managers, get your required basic cookie training, and most importantly, ensure your troop’s initial order is well thought-out and meets the needs of your girl and troop. You can also participate in some exciting enrichment sessions, including Inventory Management, Digital Cookie, eBudde, and Program Etiquette.

GSCO volunteer support specialists are currently calling all volunteers statewide to verify rosters for the upcoming Girl Scout Cookie Program. We will go over the steps to check rosters and deadline to make changes. We will also talk about cookie dates and the upcoming trainings.
Participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program can pay off. Earlier this month, girls from Troop 70720 got to go to Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs because of all their hard work in February and March of 2018. They had to wait awhile, but it was worth it. It was a blast with their indoor water park and various activities.
In just a few months, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) will team up with the DC Super Hero Girls to inspire more girls to participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program®, the largest girl-led entrepreneurship program in the world. The program gives girls real-world experiences managing money, setting goals, meeting deadlines, learning the basics of marketing to customers, and having fun as they learn and earn. This year, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment will collaborate with GSUSA to foster the female leaders of tomorrow through the 2019 Cookie Pro contest. Using the power of the DC Super Hero Girls, the contest will inspire Girl Scouts to be smart and courageous as everyday Super Heroes. It will also highlight and reward exceptional cookie bosses who take the lead, set high goals for themselves, bring positive change to their communities, and learn valuable entrepreneurial skills.
To enter, Girl Scouts must use a GSUSA-provided template to create their own mini graphic novel that illustrates a true story about their cookie-selling experience. Girls are also required to answer a set of questions to showcase how they used the skills they learned through Girl Scouts to manage their cookie program. In 2018, close to 25,000 Girl Scouts in all grade levels and from all backgrounds participated in the Cookie Pro contest, and in 2019, that number is expected to double.
24 cookie pros will move on to win the Cookie Entrepreneur Experience of a lifetime. These go-getters—four per Girl Scout grade level—will travel to California for the Cookie Entrepreneur Experience, featuring fun activities; meet-and greet-opportunities with prominent business leaders, a special recognition event, and a VIP tour of Warner Bros. Studios with a behind-the-scenes look at DC Super Hero Girls.

To be a Media Star, a girl must be in 4th grade or above. From time to time, we need younger girls to help with media interviews. However, the Media Star program is reserved for girls in 4th grade and above.
How to get involved
Girls who want to be Media Stars should email public relations director AnneMarie Harper at email@example.com. Please include a brief essay (250 words or less) about how Girl Scouts has helped you unleash your inner G.I.R.L. Also, include a video (no more than a minute) in which you introduce yourself (first name only) and explain how Girl Scouts has helped you be a G.I.R.L. Here is an example:
“Hi! My name is AnneMarie and I am a Girl Scout Cadette from Arvada! Because I am a Girl Scout, I am an innovator. I had to think outside the box to meet my cookie goal. I hosted a drive-thru booth at a neighborhood business and sold cookies online using Digital Cookie.”
Girls 12-years-old and younger can have a parent help them. Submissions from girls 13-years-old and older must be done by the girl. The best videos and essays will be shared on the GSCO blog and social media networks and must be received by October 1 at 9 a.m.
If you are selected to become a Media Star, you will be asked to participate in an individual, training session in November or December 2018. This training may be in-person or over the phone. During this training, girls will learn everything needed to be a successful Media Star. Even if you have participated in this program before, you must be trained each year if you want to participate in the program again.
