Explore More Club: Registration is Now Open for August 2020

Get ready for the August 2020 Explore More Club! This month, adult volunteers will explore the topics of ecology and the outdoors by basing projects and activities based off of the eco outdoor and animals badges of the girl program!

The Explore More Club is designed to give you, the volunteer, a hands-on experience with the girl badge earning program and curriculum! You will be completing your own projects and learning how one activity can span across multiple girl grade levels.

Register on the Events page now to attend the welcome meeting on either August 6 at 5:30 p.m. or August 7 at 4 p.m. where we will discuss and explain the activities for the month.  If you cannot attend the welcome meeting times, you may still register for a meeting time, the meeting will be recorded to watch at a later date.

After the welcome meeting you will have the month to complete the activity, closing out with our reflection meeting.

Once you are registered, you will receive a follow up email with more details about how to attend the welcome and reflection meetings, logging your progress on gsLearn, and how to connect on a Facebook page.

If you have questions, email Kendy at Kendy.Doolen@gscolorado.org or have trouble completing registration email, inquiry@gscolorado.org or call 877-404-5708.

We want to hear how your girl is using her Girl Scout skills by taking initiative, caring for the community, and Girl Scouting at home. She can send in her story here.

Explore More Club: Registration for July 2020 is Now Open

Registration is open for the July Explore More Club! Please visit the GSCO Events Calendar and register for either the July 8 or July 9, 2020 welcome meeting! If you would still like to participate, but those dates conflict with your schedule, go ahead and pick a day for the welcome meeting and you will be able to watch a recording.

Please see the FAQs below for more information:

Can my girl register for this program? This program is for adult volunteers only. However, your girl can participate in a similar program for girls, our monthly Badge Series! If this is something your girl is interested in check out the informational blog post here!

If I’m not a troop leader, but still a volunteer, can I still do this? Absolutely! This program is for all Girl Scout of Colorado volunteers who want to learn Girl Scout badge curriculum in a hands-on way and have fun while doing it!

What does this experience look like? One thing our volunteers have often asked for is to have a way to learn the curriculum before having to teach it. This is that solution! Once you register for an Explore More Club monthly topic, you will be assigned a learning path on gsLearn, our online learning platform, and gain access to a private Facebook group to be able to discuss and share with volunteer peers! In the learning path on gsLearn, you will find a webinar to kick off the month to explain the topic and the activity you are to complete. You will then find a check list of action items to complete in the next couple weeks. We will close out the monthly topic with a reflection meeting and give you a sneak peek into what the next month’s topic is.

What are the monthly topics? Monthly topics are listed below:

  • July 20: Space and the Universe
  • August 20: Ecology and the Outdoors
  • September 20: Self-Care
  • October 20: Take Action
  • November 20: Hobbies
  • January 21: Business Ethics
  • February 21: Cookie Support
  • March 21: Women in STEM
  • April 21: Events
  • May 21: Humanitarianism

If I register for one month, do I have to participate in all the months? No, you do not. The Explore More Club is designed so you can participate in as many or as few monthly topics as you want. It does grant you access to the Facebook page for all months
