Day of Dance with Colorado Ballet

Join us for our annual Girl Scout Day of Dance with Colorado Ballet on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to come learn and will try three different dance genres: ballet, creative modern, and Brazilian World Dance. Dancers will be exposed to the specific techniques as well as improvisation and dance concepts. Brownies can also earn requirements towards their Dancer Badge.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a lunch break. Cost is $12/girl and includes an event patch. Register at https://goo.gl/EqTMsu . This is a popular event and has filled quickly in the past. You’ll want to sign up soon to reserve your Girl Scout’s spot.

Girls will want to bring comfortable clothes, water, and lunch. Ballet or jazz shoes are encouraged, if you have them. There will be a parent lounge onsite for use while girls are in class.

Girl Scout Day of Dance

Girl Scouts had a great time at Girl Scout Day of Dance with Colorado Ballet in Denver earlier this month! 74 girls learned how to do swing dance, contemporary expressive dance, ballet with Colorado Ballet instructors, and enjoyed a tour of the costume closet at the ballet’s studio. Cadettes also learned ballet techniques. It was great to see so many older girls at the event!

A BIG THANK YOU to our volunteer event coordinator, Brandy Schauppner, and the Sunset Hills Service Unit for hosing this great annual event! Brandy and her team did a great job and our hosts at the Colorado Ballet appreciated the outstanding job they did this year!

Intellectual Property Patch Junior Girl Scout Event, Dec. 3, Denver

The Intellectual Property Owners Education Foundation is hosting an Intellectual Property Patch for Junior Girl Scouts on Dec. 3 at the Rocky Mountain Region US Patent Office in Denver. Girl Scouts will learn about trademarks and patents from Intellectual Property lawyers and earn requirements towards their Junior Product Designer badge.

Girl Scout Day of Dance with the Colorado Ballet

Join us for our annual Girl Scout Day of Dance at Colorado Ballet, Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016. Girl Scouts will experience three different dance genres throughout the day: square dancing, ballet, and creative dance at the Colorado Ballet’s studio in Denver. Dancers will be exposed to the specific techniques as well as improvisation and dance concepts. A new activity this year is a tour of Colorado Ballet’s fun costume closet.

Girl Scouts of all ages are invited. The Day of Dance is great activity for Brownies to earn requirements towards their Dancer Badge. The girls will learn about stretching, getting ready to dance, trying different dances, and how to create their own dance through the Creative Dance session which relate directly to badge requirements.

Level: Daisies – Ambassadors

Girl Scouts will experience three different dance genres throughout the day. Dancers will be exposed to the specific techniques as well as improvisation and dance concepts. Energy will be high as girls get to dive into Ballet, Jazz and Modern dance, and explore the costume shop!

Age levels will be split into three groupings – K-1st, 2nd-3rd, and 4th & up. Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in! Ballet or jazz shoes are encouraged if you have them. You will not be able to wear socks or lotion on your feet due to the Marley floors in the dance studios. Please bring a water bottle and snack as well!

Parents are welcome to stay in our parent lounge throughout the day or explore the Santa Fe Arts District right in our new building’s neighborhood.
