Centennial Campfire celebration at Meadow Mountain Ranch

More than 200 Girl Scouts and Girl Scout supporters gathered on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Meadow Mountain Ranch to celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting in Colorado at the last in a series of Centennial Campfire celebrations. MMR is a Girl Scouts of Colorado property located next to Rocky Mountain National Park in Allenspark. Girls and families enjoyed s’mores by the fire, a tour of the property, and a performance by the Songbirds Girl Scout Choir. A Girl Scout history display and mobile Girl Scout shop attracted attention in the main lodge.

All Girl Scouts who attended also received a free, fun patch honoring 100 years of Girl Scouting in Colorado. The first Girl Scout troop in Colorado got started in 1917 in the Colorado Springs area.

Centennial Campfire celebration at Tomahawk Ranch

More than 450 Girl Scouts, friends, and family gathered on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Tomahawk Ranch to celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting in Colorado at the second in a series of Centennial Campfire celebrations. Tomahawk Ranch is a Girl Scouts of Colorado property located southwest of Denver in Bailey. The next Centennial Campfire is planned for April 29-30 at the Grand Junction Service Center. A final celebration will be held May 21 at Meadow Mountain Ranch near Rocky Mountain National Park.

Despite the fire ban, Girl Scouts enjoyed s’mores by the fireplace inside Tomahawk Lodge, toured the property, and drank hot chocolate and apple cider. A Girl Scout history display and mobile Girl Scout shop attracted attention in the Dining Hall.

In addition to all the festivities, Girl Scouts of Colorado President & CEO Stephanie A. Foote and representatives from High Country Riders 4H group in Bailey cut the ribbon on the new indoor riding arena. The work, which started in the fall of 2016, was finished in February 2017 and is the result of an exciting partnership with GSCO and High Country Riders.

More than 350 Girl Scouts and Girl Scout supporters gathered on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Sky High Ranch to celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting in Colorado at the first in a series of Centennial Campfire celebrations. Sky High Ranch is a Girl Scouts of Colorado property located in the gorgeous mountain scenery near Woodland Park. The next Centennial Campfire is planned on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Tomahawk Ranch. Additional celebrations will be April 29-30 at the Grand Junction Service Center and May 21 at Meadow Mountain Ranch near Rocky Mountain National Park.

Despite the outdoor fire ban, girls enjoyed cold s’mores by a fake fire, toured the property, drank hot chocolate, and tried painting with bubbles. A Girl Scout history display and mobile Girl Scout shop attracted attention in the main lodge.
