GSCO to Launch Trailblazer and Mariner Troop Programs

Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! Do you have an older girl troop that is craving to do more in the outdoors? Or, maybe you are a future adult volunteer who wants to get girls engaged in high adventure activities outdoors. Well, we now have the perfect troop programs for you: Trailblazers and Mariners. Both troop experiences encourage girls to participate in all the things we love about the Girl Scout program, but through an outdoor lens.

Girl Scouts of Colorado has reviewed the guidelines established by Girl Scouts of the USA and combined them with our own policies and procedures to create a training pathway to prepare you to be a leader or volunteer for these unique troop experiences.

So, what is your first step? You will need to log into gsLearn and take GSCO’s “Introduction to Mariners and Trailblazers” training. In this training, we will introduce you to both programs and provide a brief overview of the programs and what the experience is like to be the leader. After completing the introduction training, you will then fill out a request to start either a Trailblazer or Mariner troop, and a Girl Scouts of Colorado staff member will work with you to get everything started.

We want to hear how your girl is using her Girl Scout skills by taking initiative, caring for the community, and Girl Scouting at home. She can send in her story here.
