Girl Scouting at Home: How to Make Banana Boats

Have you been missing your favorite campfire desserts? Well, fret no more! Girl Scouts of Colorado camp staff are bringing the campfire desserts to you at home.

Banana Boats

Looking for a fruity twist to the classic s’more? Banana Boats are the perfect thing for you.

What you will need:

  • Banana
  • Mini-Marshmallows
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Tin Foil

Don’t have one of these ingredients? Get creative and improvise! Use M&Ms or Hershey Kisses instead of chocolate chips, or crushed cookies instead of marshmallows!

  • Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
  • Cut the banana lengthwise through the peel. Cut about halfway through the banana making sure not to cut all the way through the other peel.
  • Open the slit of the banana and fill it with as many mini-marshmallows and chocolate chips as you can.
  • Wrap the banana in tin foil and cook in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until the marshmallows and chocolate have melted.
  • Peel and enjoy!

We want to hear how your girl is using her Girl Scout skills by taking initiative, caring for the community, and Girl Scouting at home. She can send in her story here.
