2019 Best Cookie Dad contest: Always there and supports me

My dad has always supported me in Girl Scouts. He wears his “Man enough to be a Girl Scout” tshirt a lot.

He helps me sell cookies every year and it has been three years. We moved from Illinois to Colorado and I found a troop here that camps in tents. He was willing to donate and lend his personal camping gear to help my troop camp. He offers to be a member, if needed, and he would be there in a heartbeat. He even gave his van to us for a camp-out because at the last minute we needed another car for transportation.

His smile and friendly sales pitch has helped me already sell over 200 packages of cookies and that was my first day selling. My mom is a leader and is always there, so my dad does not have to go out of his way to help me, but he still does. I am very lucky to have such a great dad!

I was brave enough to join a Colorado troop when my family moved. I wanted to sell more cookies this year, so I made a poster and set up at a corner near my church. I made new friends at my troop, church, and new school. Since I joined my new Colorado troop, in just one year I went kayaking, hiking, tent and tabin camping, paddle boarding, and participated in a parade and flag ceremony. I have already attended Magic Sky Ranch and Meadow Mountain Ranch camps and I am hoping to go to a new one this year. Girl Scouts has taught me how to make friends, be brave, and try new things. I am a G.I.R.L. (go-getter, innovator, risk-taker, and leader) in Girl Scouts and proud of it.

Dads are an important part of the Girl Scouts of Colorado Cookie Team. That’s why we honor dads who help Girl Scouts all across Colorado meet their goals. Tell us about what makes your dad an awesome Cookie Dad and he could win a cool prize.
