Summer camp session registration for overnight camp, day camp, troop camp, and family camp opens at 9 a.m. January 17.

The first round of council cookie booth selection begins at 6 p.m. Jan. 24; round two opens at 6 p.m. Jan. 25. Troops will be able to select one booth at one location during each of these rounds.

Our online training classes are now accessible through your smartphone! Take online classes such as Nuts and Bolts (for new leaders), Experienced Troop Cookie Manager training, and cookie program enrichment classes, right in the palm of your hand! You can view the classes, take quizzes and download class resources and completion certificates, all on your phone!

Take the lead on February 22 to celebrate 2019 World Thinking Day with Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from 150 countries! (That’s one big celebration!) Girls also celebrate World Thinking Day throughout the spring. The theme for World Thinking Day in 2019 is leadership! Check out our activity guides online to explore many different ways girls can be leaders and create the change they want to see in the world—and celebrate being part of the global sisterhood that is Girl Scouts and Girl Guides!

Volunteer Recognition Awards: Recognize an Outstanding Volunteer!
The form to nominate a volunteer for an award will go live on January 31. The deadline to submit a nomination or endorsement is March 31.

- Tomahawk Ranch Open House, February 24, Free. Take a staff-led or self-guided tour of Tomahawk Ranch at our Open House. Get those burning questions answered and help little ones feel comfortable to attend camp this summer. Visit the different sleeping and program areas to get an idea of what the summer ahead looks like. Staff from Mountain Berry Culinary will also be available to answer any meal-related questions. Open to all ages.
- Sky High Ranch Open House, March 9, Check out Sky High Ranch at one of our Open House events this spring! Tour the property with one of our knowledgeable staff, learn about our summer program, and what kinds of activities we have, and let us answer any questions you may have about summer camp. Our open house is a great way to help your camper prepare for camp, and you too! Let’s bring on summer!

- Outdoor Adventure Club Trailblazers Snow Mountain Ranch, March 16-17. Our entire group will go dog sledding and cross-country skiing on wintry trails. In the evening we will have a group pool party and roller skating night. Everyone loved this event last year so much we are doing it again! Girls in 7th to 12th grade. Cost: $115/girl, Free for Trailblazers Passport holders.
- Outdoor Adventure Club Explorers Keystone Science School Snow Spectacular, March 30-31, We have partnered with Keystone Science School for a weekend of play in the snowy mountains! You’ll cross-country ski, snowshoe, use an astronomy telescope and compete in a winter Olympics challenge. Program Level: Cadette (6th grade). Cost: $110/girl, Free for Explorers Passport holders

GSUSA Gold and Silver Award change
Effective October 1, 2018 Gold and Silver award projects can be for the benefit of the Girl Scouts community. Please send any questions directly to Kaitie LoDolce at email@example.com.
Any troop considering a Silver Award project that would solely benefit the GS community must run their project idea by the Highest Awards Manager Kaitie LoDolce.

OGAB (Older Girl Advisory Board)
The Older Girl Advisory Board will oversee the G.I.V.E. (Girls Investing in a Voice for Everyone) program. These girls are excited to apply their knowledge, experience, and dedication to serving girls across the state in developing opportunities to help their fellow Girl Scout sisters do more. Girl Scouts of Black Diamond is excited to share information about 2019 G.I.R.L. Fest (formerly known as the Girl Scout Jamboree)! Celebrating all things G.I.R.L. (go-getter, innovator, risk-taker, leader) from June 26-30, this event will create a powerful impact with the Girl Scout brand and will make this beloved event even more thrilling for Girl Scouts across the country. G.I.R.L. Fest is now featured on the GSUSA Getaways site for all girls in grades 4-12 (current Membership Year) in the Girl Scout Movement to consider. We’re so excited to host an opportunity for girls to experience high-adventure in the heart of beautiful southern West Virginia! Early Bird pricing ends January 19, so check it out today.
SheTech Explorer Day
GSCO can send fifteen 9th and 10th grade girl to the SheTech Explorer Day on February 8 from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. at the University of Denver – SIE Complex.
What is it? SheTech Explorer Day is a hands-on tech conference for high school girls. This day-long event will include hands-on workshops in science, technology, engineering, and math. Our ultimate goal is to expose girls to technology in a fun atmosphere as well as meet STEM role models to learn more about opportunities in those fields. Girls who attend will have access to internships, receive a SheTech certificate, receive pathway information and become part of a community to help girls have opportunities in STEM. http://shetechexplorer.com/explorer-days/
Cost? FREE! Breakfast, snacks and lunch provided.
Participants must arrange own transportation. Adults can attend for free as well as a chaperone.

Ticket sales now open! Join us for Girl Scout Day with the Colorado Avalanche and cheer on the Avalanche as they take on the St. Louis Blues! The troop with the most ticket referrals will get to have a cookie booth at the game! Last year’s troop sold more than 500 packages at their booth.
